We live in a culture where faithfulness is difficult to find. When I tell people how long we have been married there jaw drops. Our culture is the fast, microwave give it to me know because I don’t want to wait culture. They don’t want to work, they don’t want to be faithful or loyal, it’s do what every I want if it feels good to me. Our culture is very selfish and self centered.
Everybody wants but not many are faithful and willing to pay the price for what they desire.
We have two words Faithfulness & Diligence.
FAITHFULNESS: steady in allegiance or affection; loyal; constant: stedfast, loyal.
FAITHFUL implies unswerving adherence to a person or thing or to the oath or promise. LOYAL implies a firm resistance to any temptation to desert or betray.
David is in battle and he is so thirsty so a couple of faithful warriors break out and break through the enemies line and steal him some water. They race back and give it him. They were faithful and loyal, but David seeing the price they paid for this water by risking their lives could not drink it. He was faithful and loyal to his men.
Faithful people are difficult to find. We live in a world where people jump around so much because if you don’t like it here go there. If she don’t satisfy you leave her and find another girl or boy. Companies are struggling to recruit faithful loyal people because self is in control. Faithfulness is difficult to find because faithfulness comes from faith. Selfish is what runs most peoples lives. Me, me, me and not God, God, God and others.
Diligence: determination and careful effort, constant and earnest effort to accomplish what is undertaken; persistent exertion of body or mind. Sense evolved from “love” through “attentiveness” to “carefulness” to “steady effort.”
Faithfulness is the heart of someone. This is where you find loyal or loyalty. Constant steadfast no desertion or betrayal. Loyal and loyalty. Diligence is what is produced out of faithfulness. You will work, serve and be attentive and careful to accomplish what it is you are faithful towards.
Jesus was faithful to the Father. He said things like not my will but thine will be done. He said things like I did not come to be served but to serve. He was faithful to God the Father so he could be diligent about His Fathers Business. He went to the cross for us, faithful to His Father God.
God posed a question.
PROVERBS 20:6 AMP “Many a man proclaims his own loyalty and goodness, But who can find a faithful and trustworthy man?”
NCV “Many people claim to be loyal, but it is hard to find a trustworthy person.”
MSB. “Lots of people claim to be loyal and loving, but where on earth can you find one?”
God is looking for Faithful Diligent people who will be loyal to build His Kingdoms and not our own. Many that are in the Kingdom are building their own little castles in the sand.
I can not call my self faithful only God and those around me that I serve with. They will know better than anyone else. God sees and keeps great records.
Judas claimed to be faithful. But beyond his unfaithfulness was Judas had his own agenda.
When we have hidden agendas other than a Jesus Agenda we can not be truly faithful. When people get with someone are they selfish or selfless and giving?
COLOSSIANS 3:23-24 AMP. “Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve.”
Here is the inner secret of Faithfulness. This is why it is so rare. Its a heart that serves the Lord. For the Lord and not for men. He is saying we are to serve the Lord by serving people.
WE are called to serve and please the Lord, we do what we do for God and not men. We do what we do and get rewarded from God and not to do things to get peoples rewards.
There is the story of the Prophet Elijah’s attendant/servant Elisha. Elisha was faithful to God by serving Elijah. 7-8 years Elisha served the Prophet. Traveled with him, fed him, cared for him and his main job was carry his poop bucket.
Everyone wants the limelight and attention but faithful, loyal people is who God is looking for. Faithfulness is seen when no ones sees you, but God.
LUKE 16:10-13 AMP “He who is faithful in a very little thing is also faithful in much; and he who is dishonest in a very little thing is also dishonest in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of earthly wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you? And if you have not been faithful in the use of that [earthly wealth] which belongs to another [whether God or man, and of which you are a trustee], who will give you that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand devotedly by the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and mammon [that is, your earthly possessions or anything else you trust in and rely on instead of God].””
Faithful is little things is the indication you will be faithful in larger things. Dishonest in little you will be dishonest in larger things. This is who God sees faithfulness.
Don’t get mad and leave the church, I did not write the book. God did. I am just entrusted to teach the principles. God looks at faithfulness next to our loyalty to giving. Money and faithfulness.
How I served another man in business and ministry was a prerequisite to getting my own business and ministry. I was faithful to God by being faithful to His Man of God. I served and served and was loyal. I always wanted to Pastor my own church one day. I was an Associate Pastor for years. They decided to plant us in the same city. Well most of the people we’re connected to Yvonne and I so they stopped that and had me come back to the church for a few years. People were upset but I kept the right heart and said I am serving God by serving the Man of God. Well they decided to send us out to start another church this time to another city just outside of our city. Well the people still many were wanting to leave and go with me.
The Pastor stopped that and made me come back and it was a few more years I served God by serving the Man of God. People were mad and upset and wanted me to leave anyway, they
would follow me. I felt that would be betrayal. I stayed and served God by serving the Man of God. I was loyal to God, Faithful to God. Elisha served Elijah for many years doing menial task.
He was faithful and loyal because He did it for God and not the man only. Colossians says DO EVERYTHING AS UNTO THE LORD AND NOT MAN.
“Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually
aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].”
1 CORINTHIANS 15:58 AMP
When we got the right heart we can serve and be faithful and loyal to Man because we do it for the Lord first. There is another story about Ruth who’s husband died but chose to stay and serve her mother-in-law Naomi. Ruth said she would not leave her. She said Your God will be my God and your people will be my people. She served Naomi because she was faithful and loyal to God. God rewarded her with a man of God and very wealthy and powerful man of God named Boaz.
Paul told Timothy to follow him as he followed Christ. When we follow the culture we loose the heart of faithfulness. God says Honor your mother and father and you will live longer. We don’t see this like we should.
PROVERBS 10:4 AMP. “Poor is he who works with a negligent and idle hand, But the hand of the diligent makes him rich.”
PROVERBS 12:24 AMP. “The hand of the diligent will rule, But the negligent and lazy will be put to forced labor.
Hard work pays off—hard work beats talent any day, but if you’re talented and work hard, it’s hard to be beat. “Robert Griffin Jr.”
Diligence overcomes difficulties; sloth makes them. “Benjamin Franklin”
Ordinary people who faithfully, diligently, and consistently do simply things that are right before God will bring forth extraordinary results. “David A. Bednar”
Diligence, hard work, perseverance, excellence are the values that cause things to happen. “Sunday Adelaja”
For Dreams to come true, it requires diligence. Believing is the most important thing! “Yunho”
